While coloring may most often be thought of a childhood activity, I for one still love to color! It is relaxing and enjoyable and can be done in a short period of time. My card from Monday featured a little coloring and Stampin' Up! has many wonderful line drawing stamp sets that lend themselves to coloring.
Some of you may recall the banner that I shared on Sunday and you may recall that I mentioned coloring it in (with crayons no less). I decided that another fabulous little project would be to create a coloring book. It was so easy to do! The image above shows one of the pages colored in. Here are a couple other photos I snapped and then I will share how I made this.
Since I already created some 4 x 6" pages with the Everybunny images for the banner, I simply printed those out. Then I cut a cover and back of the same size, scored all sheets 1/2" from the top and punched some holes. For the cover, I used the Simply Scored Borders Scoring Plate to add a few wavy lines along the bottom of the cover. I printed another rabbit image (true to size) and punched it out with the 2-3/8" scallop punch and mounted to the front along with a band of Certainly Celery card stock. A little bit of riboon completed the project.
Did you notice that I shared two images of the bunny in the hot air balloon and that these are mirror images of one another? Love the fact that you simply have to click a button to have MDS create a mirror image! Fabulous feature.
With so many wonderful line art image stamp sets (both traditional style and digital), you could make little coloring books for almost any occassion. They would make great little party favors and of course are also fabulous to give as gifts. Just the right size for stocking stuffers and for in Easter baskets! You could tie on a few crayons (or a small box) to make it a complete gift.
Please do tell...what other ideas do you have for sharing little coloring books with others?
