A set of note cards is a fabulous gift to give and most card makers can make these up pretty quickly, especially when you start with the Stampin' Up! 3-1/2" x 5" note cards and envelopes! Tying a little ribbon around the note cards certainly works just fine, however when you want something more substantial a handmade box is easy to make and ensures a beautiful presentation. I'll give you all the details on how to make the boxes you see today.
The boxes were created based on the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA158):
I'm honored and thrilled to have been selected as a Resident Artist for the Pals Paper Arts Design team -- this is my debut post. If you've not hopped over directly from the PPA site, please click here to see the projects from my fellow Resident Arts and please play along! If you are visiting me for the first time from the PPA site, welcome!
Let's get back to the boxes! The ones I'm sharing were created for my daughter's pre-school teachers as next week is Teacher Appreciation week...hope they love them and the note cards inside!

Good to Know - Stampgoodness Tips for Decorating Your Box:
- The sentiment image was cut using the Labels Collection Framelits and the piece of Pool Party card stock that sits behind it was cut with a large Framelit from the same collection. Simply place the large cut on your Stampin' Trimmer and trim off the pointy tips from each side.
- The "paper button" that is by the bow was created using the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch and the 1" Circle Punch.
- A little ribbon or some Baker's Twine works well for holding the box closed and dresses up the box for gift giving. An alternative would have been to create a "belly band", however the large sentiment that covers the front of the box made ribbon a far better choice than a belly band.
How much do you love this sentiment? It is a part of the From the Heart stamp set and it brings back fond memories of attending a James Taylor concert back in college...I've only attended 4 concerts, so a big deal! Please tell me something today not at all stamping related: best musical performance ever attended or that you'd like to attend. Can't wait to see your responses!
Need a 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch? You don't have to wait until the new catalog arrives -- order it as a part of the Spring Surprise Bundle.
Enjoy your day!
Good wishes,
Kerry
