Hello friends. So glad you're here to see my latest project...I really want your opinion on this one! The project is a card and it was inspired by the latest Dynamic Duos color challege (DD#94):
and the brand new Mojo Monday sketch challenge (MOJO337):
When it came to creating the card, I originally started with a Basic Black card base and that just was not working for me...I did not even photograph it -- it was that bad. So I tried again with a new card base and the end result is this:
Thankfully Dynamic Duos allows you to add in neutrals to their challenge! The only Basic Black on the card is the button. I used my Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad and brayer to add color to the Naturals White card base, the Crushed Curry and Naturals White panels, the Basic Gray cardstock strip, and even the plain white Baker's Twine.
The Crushed Curry was just the right replacement for the retired More Mustard and I did go for the Dynamic Duos dessert option of dry embossing.
The Basic Gray definitely makes the embossing "pop" and adds a good bit of texture to the project overall. I love the uneven ink application that you get when using a brayer.
The Happy Birthday sentiment from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set was an afterthought and yet its style and size work beautifully on the the card.
To replicate the card, here's what you need (and then keep reading because remember I said I really want your opinion today).
This card is not one that I consider to be my usual style and I'm debating what to even call the style. So here's what I want to know...vintage or grungy? Just one little word -- that's all you need to leave in the comments. Please do let me know what you think!
