Today marks the start of a new Pals Paper Arts color challenge (PPA198) and this week's combo was so fun to use! Definitely my colors and ones that can be used for such a wide variety of projects. And truly fabulous for spring and summer! Let's take a look at the combo and then my little project...
Using this palette, I created a delightful mini banner that could easily be tucked in the envelope when mailing a birthday card:
The banner measures just 14" in length when the double-point flags are right next to one another. The tallest flag is 3-1/2" tall and the smaller is 2-1/2". The Banners Framelits made this project absolute breeze! And those Framelits are currently available in a bundle with the Perfect Pennants stamp set and that set contains the "make a wish" sentiment (see supply list at the very bottom of the post).
Gorgeous Grunge, one of my favorite stamp sets, provides pops of color on the cardstock and the Woodgrain embossing and stapled on ribbon pieces add nice texture to the project. It needed a little something more and I decided to punch out s few circles and then add them on. The end piueces have circles with a cut out pices -- simply punch the 1-1/4" circle, place on a sticky note for leveral and then pounch out a 3/4" circle.
Here's a closer look at all the details:
Apparently I do not have a single scrap of ribbon in any of the colors in the combo and therefore used Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim...it blends into the color palette beautifully!
As I mentioned earlier, you could place this banner in with a birthday card. Other options for it include placing it in a birthday jar or hanging on a colleagues' office door -- the small size is perfect for these options. And, it is sure to brighten someone's day!
Take a moment to visit Pals Paper Arts (if in fact you did not stop over from there) to see what the other members of the design team have created. We'd love for you to play along with us this week...no blog needed! You can share your creation from an online gallery.
Wishing you a creative day!
