Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for August. This month we are showing off our favorite crafting tools - those Stampin' Up! tools that we just can't live without. We hope you enjoy our projects!
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Amy Williams at Stamp and Spice - stop #12 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
Two tools that I simply can't live without are my brayer and Big Shot! The splattered looking ink you see on the star was actually rolled on with a brayer and the star itself was cutting using a Framelit and my Big Shot. In my book, these are two "must-have" tools!
My Big Shot was used to cut the two star shapes...one from card stock and one from vellum. The vellum is a little tougher to see in the photo, yet I assure you it adds an extra special touch to the card and ups to star factor! My Big Shot was also used to emboss the speckled texture on a sheet of Coastal Cabana card stock. A little embossing alone takes any project from basic to wow in just a few quick cranks of the Big Shot!
This image of the closed card helps you to best see the fact that the front is a bit smaller than the card back -- this is an easy way to add interest to a card! And, if you look closely, you'll notice that I "brayered" Coastal Cabana ink on the card front, the white liner for the writing surface, and ther embossed cardstock in addition to having used this technique for the star.
Hope that you believe my Big Shot and Brayer transformed a few everyday paper crafting goodies into a "fabulous work of art" for today's hop! Scroll all the way down for my full supply list. And, of course, keeping hopping along to see what everyone else has created!
The next stop is Michelle Gleeson at Stampin' Mojo - stop 14 - on the Pals Blog Hop! Michelle is one of the sweet Pals that I met at the 2013 Stampin' Up! Convention -- she has such a beautiful stamping style! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you again soon!
