I'm Kerry. I love peonies, and paper chains, and just plain old making things. I'm a mom to two amazing girls (by far my best creation) and wife to an incredibly supportive husband. He just so happens to be a fabulous dad.
My favorite things to create are home decor and entertaining goodies, but you'll also get a good dose of card ideas here, too. I hope that you will visit Peonies and Paper Chains often to get your fix of DIY crafting ideas!
For those who really want to know a little more...
- I got my first wiry silver hair at age 12 -- decades later I am thankful to still have brunette hair with just a few wisps of gray! And, no, I do not wear pig tails like the sweet little lady in the blog header.
- As a high school student I was incredibly fortunate to spend a year as an exchange student in Australia (G'day to my Aussie friends) and these days, my family resides in New Hampshire.
- At one time I was a wonderful pen pal and regularly corresponded in writing with several friends and family members. Today, not so much!
My favorite crafting supplies For paper crafting, I use almost exclusively Stampin' Up! supplies. I love the incredible color coordination of their card stock, stamps, ink and accessories and the quality is top notch. In fact, when I started my blog, I was a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. When it comes to crafting with the girls we sometimes use Kids Made Modern kits and our "coloring" supplies (i.e., crayons, markers, paints) are typically washable ones made by Crayola.
The name "Peonies and Paper Chains" for my blog I wanted a name and that incorporated things that I love. Peonies are one of my absolute favorite flowers...they are so lush and so fragrant! And paper chains are something I most enjoy creating with my daughters. Even at very young age, children can help assemble paper chains...we love Glue Dots when we make ours!
The design of Peonies and Paper Chains The sweet little lady (aka avatar) that you see in the header were created by Marie of Autumn's Creek. My blog header was created using Canva -- I'm still building my design skills with this tool and having fun in the process!
That's all for now, friends...it's time to get creating!
